Pay a blogger, win a t-shirt!

Here it is, the first ever Pay a Blogger Day. We have 25 t-shirts waiting for a new owner and all you need to do to get a chance to win one is support at least one blogger today.

How to participate?

1. Find a blogger to support.
2. Pay the blogger, simple! You can flattr him/her, donate using whatever means they have, buy their tshirt or mug, get them something from their wishlist, or use any other method to pay your favorite blogger back for all the great content you’ve enjoyed.
3. Tweet about it, Google+ about it. Leave a comment here. Who did you support and why?
4. Make sure you tag your tweet or G+ post with #payablogger – this will be the only way we can find your message and enter you into the draw.
5. Tomorrow we’ll randomly pick 25 people who have done 1-4 above and get in touch to send the t-shirts out.

Any questions?

If you’re not one of the winners then don’t despair. First of all, you’ve made someone very happy with your support, good karma is much more important than a tshirt. BUT tshirts are nice too so you can buy one for a symbolic sum of €5 (about $6.7).

If this is the first time you’ve heard about Pay a Blogger Day then watch the video below and visit www.payablogger.org to learn about the day that celebrates all the hard work our favorite bloggers have put into writing, pictures, videos, illustrations etc to keep us entertain, informed and educated.

I flattred http://netzwertig.com/2011/11/28/kuratieren-modularisieren-und-remixen-des-webs-neuer-brandherd-der-urheberrechtsdebatte/#more-19737 because its a great blog in switzerland and the topic “copyright” is important to discuss.
And in switzerland not many people are using flattr :-(

  2. I wish I could get flattr working with addthis or another plugin on my wordpress site…. I tried manually adding flattr but it didnt ever align right and doesnt seem to work any other way.

    #paythisblogger :P

I flattred opassande.se, http://www.annatroberg.com, scriptorium.se and some more since they are doing a really good job trying to influence the Swedish politics regarding integrity, censorship, and fundamental rights on the Internet.

I love this campaign and also flattered a bunch of other stuff, but those are the most important:

    * flattr + donation to OMG Ubuntu (https://flattr.com/thing/274883/OMG-Ubuntu) because the make my work with ubuntu so much easier due to great articles and tips – Typocal blogs with great free content i like to read and support
    * twitterflattr to @explosm and @geekandpoke for making my day every day
    * twitterflattr to @scotstevenson of “USA erklärt” (german), because of his very informative posts about US culture – love this blog
    * flattr & donations to those very important german watchblogs (they do very hard work, many articles each week): BILDblog (media https://flattr.com/thing/82670/BILDblog), Jens Weinreich (Corruption in sports https://flattr.com/profile/JensWeinreich), Netzpolitik (political topics concerning internet and privacy https://flattr.com/thing/8343/netzpolitik-org), Annnalist (antisurveillance and civil rights) and @lobbycontrol (well, they do lobby control)
    * My favourite newspaper “Der Freitag” (https://flattr.com/thing/199456/derfreitag-on-Flattr) isnt a blog, but offers a blogging platform and integrates posts into the weekly newspaper – surrogate flattr

I would love to read more tipps like those above. There has been quite some buzz on twitter, but not -what- the people actually liked to support. #payablogger
